Retreat Overview
A 7-Night Retreat in Yelapa, Mexico
December 2025 | Casa Isabel

This 7-night retreat takes place in the wild, heart-opening beauty of Yelapa, Mexico, at the oceanfront sanctuary of Casa Isabel. Together, we will step away from the noise of daily life and enter a sacred space for healing, reflection, and reconnection—with nature, with each other, and with ourselves.

Grief and Praise is a retreat for those feeling called to explore the deeper currents of their emotional lives—especially grief, in all its forms. Whether you're mourning a loss, moving through a life transition, or simply feeling the collective sorrow of our world, this retreat offers a gentle and supportive container to tend to what is tender.

Grief is not something to be "fixed"—it is something to be honored, witnessed, and held. In the company of a compassionate community, we will explore grief as a natural and meaningful expression of love. Through somatic practices, ritual, creativity, and shared wisdom, we create space for what has longed to be felt and seen.

Over the week, we will share:
-
Kundalini yoga and gentle movement practices
-
Daily sound healings with gong, bowls, and voice
-
Guided wisdom workshops and facilitated group sharing
-
A heart-opening cacao ceremony
-
A traditional temazcal (sweat lodge) led by local guides
-
Ample time in nature for rest, integration, and connectio
Please note: we are not doctors, therapists, or licensed clinicians. We do not offer professional mental health treatment. What we share comes from our lived experiences, personal healing paths, and the practices that have supported us through times of great loss and transformation.

This retreat is an invitation into deep presence. A time to slow down, to be held, and to remember that grief is a sacred expression of love—and that praise is its inseparable twin.

You are welcome here, just as you are.

She is a practicing Yoga Teacher, Sound Therapist, and Healing Arts Enthusiast. She holds a Master's Degree in Conflict Resolution from PSU and enjoys learning why people and groups do the things they do and how to make the world a more peaceful and just place. She finds inspiration from various yoga modalities and healing practices including Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Hot Yoga, Iyengar, Yoga Nidra, and others. This is reflected in her classes, which are approachable and lighthearted, while holding space for Mystery and the connection to one's more awakened self. It is an honor for her to be able to share something so dear to her heart and to encourage others on their path as they awaken into their own clarity and brilliance.

The Vision
My vision is to provide an inspiring and beautiful environment for the nourishment of mind, body and soul. My team and I offer a sacred space in a breathtakingly beautiful environment for all who wish to experience the benefits of intentional wellness, new and fun experiences, and healthy community.

We believe...
in the power of nourishing experiences, healthy relationships, and in the immersion of nature as a medicinal act. We believe that taking time to fill one's cup is an act of honoring one's whole Self and the world at large. And that through these experiences we can make contact with our inner wisdom, which allows us to deal with life on life’s terms with an open heart and curious mind. Things begin to flow, we are able to let go of rigid structures and unwanted patterns and get into rhythm with the natural flow of blissful living.

"This was a wonderful all levels yoga retreat. There was a great balance of activity and rest allowing for you to take what you need. Yelapa creates the perfect setting for healing and even unexpected revelations! The overall healing from this retreat is invaluable but fortunately comes at a price point that is manageable for most westerners."

Megan
"I went in not knowing what to expect and left feeling supported, strong, and with some new knowledge about myself. There were experiences I wouldn’t have had anywhere else that I really loved. I have new friendships, and was so glad to see that part of Mexico, it was delightful. I said many times that the thought and care that went into planning each day was truly exceptional"
